It’s Pentecost on Sunday! One of my favourite days of the church year! In 2004 I was ordained on Pentecost. It’s the day when the Holy Spirit descended on a group of frightened disciples like tongues of fire and enlivened and encouraged them to be brave followers of Jesus! With all the wildfires we’ve had in Nova Scotia and across the country, I’m a little leery of using fire as a metaphor for the Holy Spirit these days, but it’s only a metaphor! If you can, wear red, yellow or orange! The scripture is going to be read in multiple languages and we’ve got a great drama planned and a creative way of praying, so don’t miss it!
I hope the lilacs by my parking spot bloom before Sunday! I love the scent. Monday I leave for a river cruise on the Danube. Rev. Stephen Fram is on call for Pastoral Emergencies.

Here’s the Spiritual Reflection I did for the United Churches for Dartmouth today.
Both the Leadership Team and the Transition Team meet this week. We have secured the services of the Rev. Judith Perry for Pulpit Supply and emergency pastoral care for the month of August.
Rev. Jan Edmiston ALWAYS has something important to say; I’m so glad she continued to write even though she recently retired. Here is here most recent blog post: What Happens When We Give People What They Don’t Need?
