The Saint James Carillon Choir was formed in 1977 and has been an important addition to the worship and outreach of our church. We currently ring four octaves of Schulmerich handbells and in the past have rung five octave music. We practice on Monday evenings and new members are always welcome.
Each year the choir plays three or four times during morning worship services and at various other congregational events. It has been invited to play at other congregations, some local and some requiring considerable travel. (The farthest distance travelled was Bermuda!) During the Christmas season the choir plays at local assisted living facilities.
Over the years the choir has participated in handbell festivals in Maine, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia and is looking forward to ringing at a festival in Moncton in early June.
