Worship – We continue our Advent Journey to Bethlehem and light the candle of JOY! The scripture is Luke 2: 8-20 (CEB); it’s the story of the angels telling the shepherds of Jesus’ birth and my reflection title is Connected to Heaven and Earth. It may seem out of order, when we haven’t even celebrated his arrival yet, but we all know the story, or at least most of us do. Or we know a mashup of the story which combines Matthew and Luke. So, next week we will celebrate his birth!
The Carillon Choir will be with us in the morning service, inviting us into worship with a prelude and then offering the Ministry of Music that day.
Two weeks ago Marilyn Harris brought in a nativity set and shared a little bit about it, last week Joan Clark did, and this week Jackie Clark is going to.

Two special events this week: Legends of Mary Sunday afternoon and the Blue Christmas Service on Wednesday evening.

Christmas Magic was a once again a magical time, I spoke with so many folks from the community that I hadn’t met before, at least a dozen people commented on my rainbow collar. It is such a conversation starter.

I am more or less settled into my new office, my sister came and helped me hang things on Monday, so while it’s considerably smaller than the former office, it’s got room for all my books and a couple of chairs so that I can meet with people. Cathy however, is living between two offices, half of the admin office has moved up to the new space, half of it still in the old space. Feel free to come check it out.
Christ in the Chaos – I subscribe to a number of newsletters, some spiritual and religious, some political, some just for fun… and I confess, sometimes I don’t read them… but this one caught my eye today and it seemed appropriate. I commend to you, Christ in the Chaos!
I also comment to your attention, this post from Rev. Jan Edmiston, I will miss her wisdom when she retires shortly. It’s entitled What Does Christmas Make You Think Of? It’s a line from one of the episodes of Ted Lasso.
My week is extremely varied… Advent and Christmas preparations, renovation plans, meetings of various kinds, EIGHT services between now and December 28th!
