We continue our ‘Who Are the People In the Neighbourhood?’ series with guests Lauren Cullen and Kayla Heisler; both from MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning. We also have Poppy Mason coming to share some special music on the piano; Poppy is a student at Accents Music Learning Centre, who are one of our partners in the church hall. Poppy played at our Christmas Concert as well. She, along with her Mother and sister are regulars at Workshop Wednesday.
Worship This Week: The scripture is Acts 15:1–18; you can read it HERE; it’s about that most fascinating of all things… a Church Meeting! 😉 My reflection title is DEI… Part of God’s Unfolding Plan. It’s also the International Day Against Homophobia, so our music and liturgy is all centred around expanding our circles.
My week is all about evening meetings: Monday I met with the rest of the Trustees to complete the necessary paperwork for the sale of the church hall and renovation of the church building. Fun fact, did you know that your minister is a Trustee and automatically the Chair of Trustees when he/she arrives unless they choose otherwise? Tuesday I met with the Transition Team, Wednesday and Thursday evenings I will be on-line from 5-9 with the Annual Meeting of the Region.

In amongst all that, there’s been phone calls and emails, bulletin prep and PowerPoint, updating the website and creating some marketing material, several one on one meetings, some time spent with the Workshop Wednesday crew admiring Marilyn Reid’s handiwork. Somewhere in there I have to write a reflection… probably Saturday again…
As the United Church celebrates its 100th Anniversary and looks Towards 2035 General Secretary shares a letter with the church. You can read it below. The Dartmouth Churches will worship together on June 8th @ Woodlawn United Church.
