Midweek Message – April 16, 2025

Holy Week... my Facebook memories told me a couple of weeks ago that back in 2018, I had 6 services over 4 days! I was serving a 2 point charge, we had a Maundy Thursday Service, Good Friday, a funeral on Saturday, Easter Sunrise Service and then a service in each as well! I definitely was NOT hosting Easter Dinner that year.

I will be participating in the Ecumenical Good Friday Service at Grace United on Friday @ 10:00 AM; members of our choir are also participating. I encourage you to come if you are able, skipping this part of the story makes Easter Sunday less meaningful.

Sunday will include communion, a choir piece, some words of reflection from me, some singing, some prayers. I hope you are able to join us!

Here is Moderator Carmen Landsdown’s Easter Message:

Last Sunday after worship, Dale Hudson led us through an update from the Property Committee; he must have been moving his hand really fast in this photo.

I was pleased to attend Fran McKnight’s surprise party on Saturday! And it was a surprise.

The United Church has a guide out on how to engage with political candidates when they come to your door, you can get it here: Election. Some of them need some basic courtesy skills when they come to the door, such as asking if it is a convenient time to talk. Can you tell someone knocked on my door last week? 😉

Some United Church voices who encourage us to remember our faith at the ballot box.
