Midweek Message – March 26

It’s the 4th week of our Lenten Series: Everything In Between and this week’s theme is Lost and Found. What is the space between those two? What is filled with? Waiting? Emptiness? Longing? Hope? God? So many possibilities in the space between.

It’s also our Annual Congregational Meeting, which will be combined with worship; if you were here last year, we did this; one of the advantages is that everyone gets to hear about things and ask questions. There will be all the usual elements of worship as well; singing and prayers, scripture and words of reflection. This service will NOT be streamed on Facebook, someone will record my reflective pieces and we’ll send them out later, but the Leadership Team decided that we didn’t want to stream the business portions of the meeting. So, if you want to participate, you’ll have to be here in person!

Thanks to Brian McLeod and Ian Travers, the Food Bank was the recipient of  Credit Union Atlantic’s Community Investment Grant; this will enable us to purchase new freezers and serve our clients better. Below are a couple of photos from the presentation ceremony.

It was a delight to have the Carillon Bell Choir in church last week; I managed to dash up to the balcony and get a new photograph! They have 4 or 5 new ringers since Christmas!

Wellness Wednesday for Seniors took place today, with Wayne Cochrane sharing some of his legal expertise. About 25 folks enjoyed yoga, soup, Wayne’s expertise, along with the opportunity to make conversation and connections with each other. We invited folks to evaluate the program; here is one of the comments: “My life has more meaning because of these sessions.” Does it get any better than that?

My week has been busy with multiple meetings… everything from Annual Meeting, Ministry & Personnel stuff, Property Matters, Future Directions for the Region.

And the PowerPoint is SO LONG….
