Worship this week focuses around being called by God; I don’t know how many of you are on Facebook; it was my turn to provide a short spiritual reflection for the United Churches for Dartmouth, so I’m including it here. The text is Isaiah 6: 1-8.
It’s been a week again… my sister had surgery on Tuesday, a double bypass, her surgeon said everything went according to plan and she should make a full recovery. I haven’t been to see her yet, understandably she is not up to visitors beyond her husband, perhaps in the next couple of days. Thank you for the prayers and inquiries about her.

I’m not sure how I always forget that November is SO busy trying to get all the Advent stuff prepared and scheduled. And we have a few new things happening this fall, which is great, and we have a couple of new things taking place this Advent/Christmas season, so it’s a domino effect. And the work of the Interim Ministry with the Transition Team continues. It’s ALL good stuff, but I’ll admit to feeling a bit overwhelmed right now… perhaps I need to follow Jesus’ example and retreat to a lonely mountain and pray… a quick Google search tells me that it’s recorded in scripture that he did this NINE times! Since we only have three years of his life and ministry in scripture, that’s three times a year that we know of. Many of you know that I’m a Spiritual Director, one of the requirements for maintaining that is to take a 3 day silent retreat each year, somehow this year, I neglected to schedule that in to my Study Leave time. So… taking a few deep breathes…
Keep your eyes open next week for all the Advent and Christmas events!
