Midweek Message – September 25

It’s been a week! And it’s only Wednesday!

Late last week, I thought I had burned my mouth on coffee, my throat was a bit scratchy on Friday, I didn’t feel great on Saturday, and felt steadily worse on Sunday. Adrenaline gets me through worship when I have to… Sunday afternoon all the adrenaline left my body and I could hardly swallow, I couldn’t get in to see my own doctor on Monday, so I used virtual care, uploaded a photo of my throat, a diagnosis of strep throat, a prescription was called in to my pharmacy which my sister picked up for me, and the miracle of antibiotics, by Tuesday afternoon, I was feeling considerably better. Not great, but much better. Which is good, considering we had our first Wellness Wednesday for Seniors today! We had a GREAT turnout; big thanks to Joan Clark and Debra Keays-White who spearheaded this, and Melanie Rendell and Kathy Ibel who came this morning to help setup and and act as hosts.

Worship – We are marking Orange Shirt Day and Treaty Day; there’s a three person dramatic reading of scripture that I got volunteers for quite promptly! Parts of Genesis 1 & 2 and then Mark 10. Reflection Title: Serve and Preserve. I’m on the hunt for some orange material… you’ll have to come Sunday to find out why!

Cathy is away this week on Camino Nova Scotia, so I’m doing double duty this week. And with not being 100%, I feel as if I’m running behind.
