It’s Trinity Sunday, and you were most likely brought up with Father, Son and Holy Spirit as the three who make up the Trinity, but there are others:
- Creator, Christ and Redeemer
- Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer
- Mother, Child and Breath of God
- Mother, Lover, Friend
- Overflowing Font, Living Water, Flowing River
- Rock, Cornerstone and Temple
Each one expands our image of God, who is ultimately beyond knowing fully. The scripture is Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31 & Romans 5: 1-5 and my reflection is entitled Perichoresis – The Divine Dance!
This is my last Midweek Message until August, although I still plan to write up a bit about the Regional Annual Meeting before I finish up next Tuesday Tuesday.
This week was a bit of a whirlwind… and it’s only Wednesday! Along with the usual things to get ready for worship, the Property Committee met, I had a Zoom meeting with a couple of members of the national Interim Ministry Committee and then the Transition Team had a great conversation last evening about the role of children in church and how the latest research says they should be included in all aspects of worship and not segregated into Sunday School, and then this article popped up in my Facebook feed: Kid’s Don’t Get Anything Out of Church. The worship committee will be discussing a lot of topics around worship in August!
The Grief Group had their final session on Wednesday and also realized that in my focus on getting ready for the region’s annual meeting, a couple of reports snuck up on me and were due today! For meetings that take place on Thursday.

The decommissioning of Fairview United Church is taking place on Saturday morning and I will attend that, Rev. Ivan Gregan’s retirement Open House is Saturday afternoon, which I will also attend. You are all welcome to attend both of those!
Cathy is away for a few days, so you may not get an answer to email as quickly as you usually do.
