Midweek Message – March 20

Well, it is Palm Sunday this week! We are doing ‘A Walk Through Holy Week.’ It’s a dramatic reading of scripture and voices of some of the people who may have been present with Jesus and the disciples on that last week. We had a great rehearsal late this afternoon!

I haven’t given you a rundown of my week for a while…

Monday – I spent time creating the material for the Good Friday Labyrinth Walk; my ideas always take more time to execute than I think when I dream them up! I hope you all come out and experience it, sometimes it’s a profound experience, sometimes it’s just a nice walk. And for those of you with mobility challenges, there will be hand labyrinths to use instead of the walk. I finished off the bulletin, I created the Power Point (I really need to hand that task off to someone else!) updated the website and created social media posts for the week. I also took a quick scan through the responses you wrote on the Interim Ministry Evaluation Forms.

Tuesday – I spent most of the morning with the Food Bank distributing beautiful hygiene packages! Then created some marketing material for our post-Easter series on Thriving Churches, in the afternoon I put together the agenda and prepared for the Future Direction’s Committee of the Region and have a Zoom meeting with Executive Minister, the Rev. Faith March-MacCuish. In the evening was the fourth session of the Thriving Churches Study Group. I recorded a video Spiritual Reflection for the United Churches for Dartmouth which was posted today, if you’re not on Facebook, you can find it below.

Wednesday – Thriving Churches Study Group in the morning, Canadian Interim Minister’s Zoom gathering over lunch, chair the Future Directions Committee meeting in the afternoon, rehearsal for Palm Sunday.

Thursday – I’ll take a deep breath… meet with Cassie Sundin from the YMCA Step Ahead program about possibilities for her clients to volunteer at St. James, I’m having lunch with some colleagues, I’ll meet with the United Fresh Facilitator’s over Zoom, attend to whatever is still necessary for Sunday and get ready for making Silk Dyed Easter eggs on Saturday!

In between I read and/or wrote 86 emails between Sunday and Wednesday evening! That doesn’t count Facebook messages and texts. I met with Cathy and had many casual conversations with folks!
