We continue this week with The Marks of Discipleship series; this time the focus is on healing.
The scripture this week is Mark 10: 46-52, the story of Jesus healing a blind man.
Reflection – From Blindness to Sight
Questions I am Pondering:
- In the scripture, Bartimaeus wants to see AGAIN, I’m always curious about that.
- What is the healing that took place in the story?
- What is the healing for us?
This has been a tough week for me… a young colleague died last Wednesday, Rev. Alison Etter, you may have seen her obituary in the paper; I’m going to Cape Breton for her funeral on Saturday. And a friend died on Friday, quite unexpectedly following surgery.
And in the midst of that bulletin prep takes place, Official Board and Transition Team meetings happen, along with a consultation with the architect regarding office space. A Future Directions Committee of the region meeting, a piano lesson! And tomorrow a meeting with the family of Isobel Paterson whose funeral will be on March 26th @ 2 pm. And a sermon to write… in all of that, there is prayer… prayer for the world, for the people of St. James, for those who are homeless or at risk and for myself… that I remember that Jesus sometimes snuck away to a lonely place to pray.
