Midweek Message – January 3

When your week week begins on Tuesday and you have a migraine on Wednesday, the Midweek Message is a little late.

Worship this week is Matthew 2: 12; the story of the Magi and their visitation to Jesus. In my reflections this week, I keep swinging between focusing on Following the Light or Home By Another Road… who knows where I will wind up by Sunday

You may remember that last year on my first Sunday with you; you received a Star Word to ponder throughout the year; I’d be interested in whether you pondered yours at all. Mine was ‘feel’ and I think I’ll write a separate post about that. You’ll get a new star word this year and we are going to take it one step further. I’d like to know what your word is and perhaps check in with you about it in the coming year. Also, I’ve got lots of extra stars for you to take and give to a friend/neighbour/family member/co-worker. They are glued to business cards one this year.โ€‚I plan to take some out to some of the shops etc. in our area. WAY outside my comfort zone, but my motto is ‘If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up to much room!’ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cathy and I have been doing some research on a new computer for the office as well as a Church Management System in order to make the office run more efficiently. We are presently running Windows 7 and using multiple systems that don’t talk to each other, which requires a lot of duplication of effort on Cathy’s part.

There are so many parts of the world mired in conflict and all of them are important. The continued unfolding humanitarian crisis in the Middle East calls to my heart on a deep level. If it calls to yours, please listen/watch the video below from the Right Rev. Carmen Lansdowne, our Moderator, and take the action she suggests.
