Midweek Message – December 27

I hope your Christmas has been full of what you needed this year. I hope you were able to experience ‘Rejoicing in our Weary World.’ It’s been a quiet couple of days; I went to my son and his family’s place for Christmas Dinner; my husband got a bad cold a couple of days before Christmas, and he didn’t feel up to doing anything except lay on the couch and watch TV, so he stayed home. Christmas Dinner was delicious! And as always, I came home with leftovers. Yesterday (Boxing Day) was a day with TV, reading, heating up leftovers and snacking. Today may not be much different.

Worship this coming Sunday is Breakfast with Jesus! We will worship in the hall, around tables, eating and drinking together, like the earliest Christian communities did. Please bring muffins, fruit, cheese, juice, yoghurt etc. to share. Coffee and tea will be provided. We’ll read scripture, hear a Christmas story written by Leo Tolstoy, talk about where we have seen God’s presence this past year, and sing carols! Who would like to volunteer to set up on Saturday? We need tables and chairs set up, along with plates and cutlery brought from the kitchen! Email me at reverendcatherinemacdonald@gmail.com and let me know.

I am not in the office this week, but you can always reach me at home in case of a pastoral emergency.
