Midweek Message – December 20

Ah, the week before Christmas… while I’m mostly ready for Sunday, both at church and at home, there are no doubt still some things that will slip through the cracks! And after 20 years of ordained ministry, I have learned that that’s okay. Christmas still comes, Jesus is still that vulnerable baby and no matter how weary we are, there will still be rejoicing!

If this season is difficult for you for any reason, grief, loneliness, despair, health challenges and you need to carve out a quiet contemplative space just to be, come to Port Wallis on Thursday evening, on the ‘longest night’ of the year, for a special Blue Christmas service.

There are two opportunities to hear the Christmas Story on Sunday!

I spent some time in the sanctuary this morning, one of the things I did was dismantle the prayer wall; these are the prayers that were tucked into the prayer wall. Some from our congregation, some from people who use our space on a regular basis. I will hold them in my heart for the Christmas season.

Shawn Parker, Street Navigator came in and picked up all the socks as well as $200 worth of gift cards that we were able to purchase due to the donations at Christmas Magic.
